Are colleges helping or hurting America?

Two years ago, more than half of right-leaning respondents held positive views of college and university campuses, and Pew notes that more conservative Republicans than moderate Republicans believe college negatively affects the country.

Democrats are more likely than Republicans to believe that churches have a negative impact on American society, according to a recent report by Pew Research Center.

Fifty-nine percent of Democrats think labor unions have a positive effect, compared to just 33 percent of Republicans who feel the same way.

In September 2015, 54 percent of Republicans said those institutions had a positive impact on the way things were going in the country, and only 37 percent said they had a negative effect.

Interestingly, the more money made, the less positive Republicans surveyed view higher ed. Forty-six percent making under $30,000 view college positively; for those making between $30,000 and $74,999, that number dips to 34%.

73 percent of Republicans have a positive outlook on churches/religious organizations. New Pew Research survey shows that a majority of Republicans think they are bad for America....why is that?

Younger Republicans tend to be much more positive, with 44 percent of 18- to 49-year-olds saying colleges have a positive effect on the way things are going in the country. TIt had a margin of error 2.3 percent.

Conflicting reports over Hayward picking Celtics cause Twitter to lose its mind
Hayward has opted to join the Celtics after also meeting with the Utah Jazz and Miami Heat , according to ESPN's Chris Haynes . There are plenty of reasons for Hayward to stay in Utah, despite the also obvious allures of teams such as Boston or Miami.

In addition to higher education, the study also looked at the public opinion of the impact of the news media.

When it comes to higher education, even Republicans with degrees increasingly see it as a negative force.

59 percent overall have a positive outlook on churches/religious orgs.

Pew also found that 46 percent of those unaffiliated with any religion and 43 percent of those who seldom or never attend religious services believe churches and religious groups have a negative impact on society.

Those divides become stronger as one's political ideology becomes stronger, particularly among Democrats, according to the data.

The design of the survey allowed those responding to define "national news media" as they wished.
