Conflicting reports over Hayward picking Celtics cause Twitter to lose its mind

Free-agent forward Gordon Hayward is apparently going to make his decision about where he wants to sign on Tuesday.

There are plenty of reasons for Hayward to stay in Utah, despite the also obvious allures of teams such as Boston or Miami. And I haven't even mentioned how the Eastern Conference has deteriorated into a pile of vomit, potentially setting up the Celtics for deep playoff runs well into the future.

Hayward is the major splash for the Celtics this off season after All-Star forwards Jimmy Butler and Paul George were traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder, respectively.

Hayward has opted to join the Celtics after also meeting with the Utah Jazz and Miami Heat, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Topeka forecast for coming days includes multiple chances of rain
A trailing disturbance could bring a few more showers or brief rumbles on Monday , but most of the day looks dry. Maybe a little lower rain chance on Sunday with more sunshine and afternoon readings rising into the lower 90s.

A contingent from the Jazz, including the recently acquired Ricky Rubio, met with Hayward on Monday in a 3½-hour meeting at Hayward's San Diego home.

Hayward's final visit will be with the Jazz. Whatever it ends up being, it's unlikely to be believed fully unless it comes directly from Hayward.

This confusion sent the National Basketball Association world into a frenzy and Isaiah Thomas into a potentially premature celebration. Now he's added an All-Star without surrendering any picks or young players. It's no surprise that he was on hand to make his case to Hayward. Unless the free agent made a decision to take less than the max, Ainge will likely need to find a new home for either Marcus Smart or Avery Bradley. The most important thing: Boston landed a star before its cap flexibility vanished when pending free agents Isaiah Thomas, Bradley and Smart get big raises next year.
