The new engine is available to order in the XE and XF sedans, and the F-Pace SUV, in each case driving the rear wheels via an eight-speed ZF transmission, although Jaguar Land Rover SA has yet to mention anything so mundane as prices.
The 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit will carry the 30t badge and produces 400Nm of torque with Carbon dioxide emissions as low as 157g/km.
The base 25t models adopt Jaguar's latest 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 and are rated at 247 horsepower, up from 240 hp previously.
It seems like just yesterday that Jaguar rolled out a rejiggered powertrain lineup for the 2018 XE, XF, and F-Pace. The F-Pace SUV now manages 0-62mph in six seconds flat, and Jaguar quotes 37mpg.
In the XF saloon the new engine delivers 0-100km/h in 5.8 seconds (0-60mph in 5.5) with all wheel drive.

Escobar tripled in the third when Blue Jays outfielders Jose Bautista and Pillar collided in right-center chasing the flyball. Lorenzo Cain raced around for a double, then scored when Perez hit an RBI single that dropped in just in front of Smith.
In the smaller XE saloon, the 0-100km/h sprint takes only 5.5 seconds (0-60mph in 5.2) with all wheel drive, fuel economy is up to 41.5mpg (6.9l/100km) and Carbon dioxide emissions are 157g/km.
Nick Rogers, executive director for product engineering at JaguarLand Rover, said: "We continue to broaden the range of our Ingenium engine family, giving customers more choice than ever before".
All of them are paired as standard with the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission no matter the auto, and are fitted with twin-scroll turbos with ceramic ball bearings and high-flow compressors.
This is the fourth new engine in 2017 to be added to Jaguar's line-up, following 200bhp and 250bhp versions of the 2.0-litre four cylinder, as well as a 240bhp 2.0-litre twin turbocharged diesel unit. This allows drivers to personalise the automatic gearbox, throttle and steering settings to suit their personal preference.
