The fifth in a highly successful series of Transformers live action films, it seems a long time ago that Michael Bay's series of films first came out. And it is the first Transformers movie not to open to $100 million or more. The projected worldwide come through Sunday is $196.2 million, powered by $123.4 million in China. As most of you know from the trailers, the fifth installment expands the mythology of the Transformers universe by introducing a medieval-centric backstory with Mark Wahlberg reprising his lead role from Transformers: Age of Extinction.
The Transformers franchise has never been a favorite of critics, with The Last Knight now sporting a lowly 15 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Ahead of the weekend, the film has an audience rating of about 62 percent. The superhero tentpole earned an impressive $25.2 million to cross $300 million domestically. Entertainment shows Gal Gadot in a scene from "Wonder Woman".
Sunday estimates show Wonder Woman tying with Disney and Pixar's Cars 3 for second place. It's now surpassed Man of Steel's final domestic box office numbers and is still going strong.

So when you go back in time and go through that 6 billion years of mythology, there's certainly a current of thought within it that says she was a human character and perhaps was actually the first one who built the Transformers. "It's a really sweet rom-com, and Michael was able to balance the romance and the comedy perfectly".
