While it's a little confusing to see a guy with a.314 winning percentage in his one year as a head coach get bumped up to the majors like this, it's not a shock to see Butler keep things inside their family.
According to Scout.com's Evan Daniels, Butler will hire former MI assistant Lavall Jordan as its next men's basketball coach short of a breakdown in their contract negotiations. Prior to that, he was an assistant with MI and Iowa as well as Butler from 2003-07 under Todd Lickliter.
In the ensuing coaching search by the Butler administration, athletic director Barry Collier made a decision to stay within "The Butler Way" and hire one of its own. Jordan has been instrumental as an assistant coach at several universities, including Butler. Milwaukee went 11-24 in Jordan's only year, and finished 10th in the Horizon League with a 4-14 record.
