22 de mayo de 2017, 15:51Tehran, May 22 (Prensa Latina) Donald Trump visited a country with no concept of elections and whose people have never seen a ballot box, reasserted Iranian President Hassan Rouhani today, rejecting criticism of the U.S. president and the Saudi king.
"I do not think the American people are ready to trade the lives they lost in September 11 with billions of dollars gained through weapons sales", Rouhani said.
"The Iranian nation has made a decision to be powerful".
It is time for the USA to lift its remaining sanctions on Iran, not try and renege on the nuclear deal.
Rouhani said. "Who can say the region will experience total stability without Iran?"Unlike Saudi Arabia, which occasionally holds elections for municipal councils, Iran regularly holds elections for president, parliament and other posts".
The nuclear agreement Mr Rouhani's government reached with global powers in 2015, under which most worldwide sanctions have been lifted in return for Iran curbing its nuclear programme, is likely to remain safe. "The basis of military power is national power, and this power is from the back of elections".
He called Trump's meeting with Saudi leaders "just a show" and declared it would not "have any political and practical value".
Conservatives have an ally in the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Mike Zimmer plans to return to Minnesota June 4
Zimmer, who is entering his fourth year at the helm in Minnesota, said being away from his team has been a chore. I've been pretty smart about it. "That might take an hour and a half or something and then I'll take a break".
"I hope it can settle so that we can have a better judgement about those in Washington", said Rouhani.
"The Islamic Republic is ready for cooperation at all levels with other countries, including France, to fight against terrorism and to resolve the Syrian crisis", Rouhani told Macron, according to IRNA. He said the Sunni-ruled kingdom "has never seen a ballot box", a pointed dig in the wake of Iran's presidential election Friday that drew long lines as over 40 million people voted.
"Our missiles are for defence and peace", Rouhani said, adding that the United States expectations from Iran to halt its defensive missile programme is "an illusion".
"Our missiles are for peace, not for attack", he added.
Mr Trump began a trip to Israel on Monday by saying that it shared a "common cause" with its Arab neighbours in "the threat posed by Iran". "The problem is that the Americans do not know our region and those who advise USA officials are misleading them".
The sweep means reformists can replace Tehran Mayor Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, who had been a presidential candidate before withdrawing to support Raisi. "We will not wait for them and their permission".
