Called "Files On-Demand", the feature will roll out along with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and will give users more control over which files are stored locally versus in the cloud. We'll see how long that lasts with the company's new Microsoft Graph and its goal of improving your life no matter what smartphone or tablet you use, as long as you use Windows 10 on your PC.
Microsoft introduced the Fall Creators Update alongside new development tools created to help application makers take advantage of the cross-device features.
According to Microsoft, more than 500 million devices now run Windows 10. Expect to see this feature show up in a Windows 10 Insider build this summer with general availability this fall.
Timeline visually displays what a user was doing previously, allowing users to easily hop back into files, apps and websites as if it was real time.

Baton Rouge cops who shot Alton Sterling won't be charged

With "pick up where you left off", if you're in, say, Word on your desktop, you should be able to pick up your (Android or iOS) phone and immediately continue editing. A user's Windows experience will move from device to device, using Microsoft's mobile apps for Android and iOS.
Microsoft just announced Story Remix-a new app that lets you create videos with mixed reality content, among other things-this morning at its Build developer conference.
While the ability to automatically select, trim and create videos and incorporate them into themes with editable storyboards isn't new, nor is the ability to change music or sync to beats. As for developers, the Microsoft Fluent Design System will allow them to deliver engaging experiences that work across a wide range of devices with input diversity. The app will automatically generate "stories" based on your photos and clips. Microsoft executives described it as a more gradual journey over time. As the name implies, Timeline provides a visual record of recent apps and activities, which could be a more natural way of picking up where you left off.
The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will also bring new changes to mixed reality. Due to wide interest from the community, developers in the US and Canada can pre-order an Acer ($299 USD) or HP ($329 USD) Windows Mixed Reality Headset Developer Edition starting today from the Microsoft Store for delivery later this summer. Microsoft also announced its own set of motion controllers that works with the sensors built-in and within the headset, so you don't need to install cameras around your room like in HTC Vive.
