For the fifth year in a row, Singapore's Changi won as the best airport in the world, beating out five other Asian hubs in the top ten.
The Singapore global airport clinched the top spot this year ahead of Tokyo's Haneda airport, South Korea's Incheon worldwide Airport, the Munich Airport in Germany and the Hong Kong global Airport.
The award for Best Airport Staff recognizes airport workers who come into contact with travelers across a wide range of areas, including staff working at customer help counters, immigration and security personnel, shops, food and beverage outlets, Skytrax said.
As Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) put it, the SKYTRAX Awards platform is the largest passenger satisfaction assessment among all the surveys measuring airport service excellence and quality.
"We share this honour with the Changi Airport community and the many government agencies whom we work closely with".

Munich Airport dropped a spot and moved to fourth on the list, while Hong Kong International held onto its fifth place position.

In a release, Sanjay Reddy, Managing Director, Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) said that the award was the result of innovations and new initiatives introduced at the Airport. In addition to this, the Mumbai Airport was also voted third in the top five Most Improved Airports in 2015 and as the Best Airport in 2016 in India & Central Asia by Skytrax.
Vancouver Airport Authority spokeswoman Tess Messmer told Business in Vancouver in an email that she believes that the award showcases the strength of the Canadian airport system.
The 2017 awards were based on 13.82 million airport survey questionnaires that were completed by 105 air travellers of different nationalities during the survey period. The survey was conducted between last July and February and covered 550 airports.
