Ed Sheeran Releases New Music After a Two-Year Hiatus

While it may seem insane for an artist to take a hiatus without any sort of action for an entire year, Sheeran still managed to win two Grammys and have plenty of hangouts with Taylor Swift in a year where music was otherwise Ed-less.

Castle on the Hill, one of two hotly anticipated new tracks released this morning, was described be Ed as a "love song to Suffolk".

Sheeran has said of his decision to return with two new tracks: "Hello 2017!"

Sheeran reportedly penned "Shape Of You" for Rihanna but made a decision to keep the song for himself. I think it's quite rugged.

"Tasted the sweet perfume of the mountain grass as I rolled down / I was younger then", Sheeran sings over a mounting drumbeat. Ed Sheeran really lacks the swagger for this track which unfortunately makes it fall flat. You can listen to "Castle on the Hill" and "Shape of You" here.

"My biggest market in the world is the Philippines and every staff member on the boat was Filipino so I just had a wave of people come to my room every five minutes asking for selfies", he added.

The forecast dries out by mid to late afternoon, but gets chilly this evening with gusty winds of 30 miles per hour possible. With wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour , visibilities could be reduced to as low as one-quarter mile, forecasters said.

"Castle On The Hill" sounds drastically different, instead opting for much more of a traditional pop-rock sound.

The Independent reported last week that his album would likely be titled - [Subtract/Minus] or÷ [Divide] following the mathematical theme of his two previous records 2011's + [plus] and 2014's x [multiply].

Aww! It's so unbelievable to see artists supporting other artists.

During his Radio 1 appearance, Sheeran confirmed that he would announce details of his next tour soon and has already rehearsed for the live shows.

Revealing how he is experiencing life back in the spotlight again, the I See Fire hitmaker said on the Breakfast Show: "It's the first radio interview I've done in two years".

Sheeran has previously written or co-written songs for Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, One Direction, Lupe Fiasco and for the British TV music competition X-Factor.
