Kyle Abbott signs Kolpak deal with Hampshire, ends South Africa career

The CSA said neither player will henceforth be considered for any future national selection after signing the Kolpak deals with Hampshire.

This was confirmed after the completion of the second Test in Cape Town, which saw the Proteas comprehensively beat Sri Lanka by 282 runs.

"I don't think anyone can question my commitment to South Africa".

"I care so much about him that I want him to play for South Africa, I want him to do well and perform on the biggest stage in the world because I think he is an incredible cricketer and that's the place to be".

Hampshire Director of Cricket, Giles White said: "We know Kyle well from his previous stint with us and Rilee comes with an excellent reputation".

Stiaan van Zyl, Simon Harmer and Hardus Viljoen had already signed Kolpak deals, while Proteas coach Russell Domingo on Thursday said he has been assured Dane Piedt is going nowhere after the spinner was linked with a move to England. "We've always backed him", said the coach.

"I would also like to express my thanks to Cricket South Africa and the Warriors for their understanding during this process".

But the fact that‚ by his own admission‚ he committed himself to Hampshire five months ago and chose not to say so sits uncomfortably. Then it was just about me making sure the boys were focused on the job at hand. "We need to look at every one of them".

Providence Curbside Pick-Up of Christmas Trees Begins Monday
All trees collected by the City will be delivered to the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation and recycled into compost. For curbside residents the limit is two trees per household, while for drop-off at the Green Depot, the limit is four trees.

"At the end of the day, it's the right decision for me", he resolved. In the last few months, I have never felt far away from being dropped.

He said that there was not a great difference in monetary terms between what he was earning from CSA and what he will receive from Hampshire. "This has taken nearly 12 months with my agent and there are various clauses", he said by way of explaining the security he craved with his new venture.

"I don't want to sit in 12 months time when everyone is fit, wearing a (reserve player's) bib again". In 2015 after the end of the World Cup Zimbabwe wicketkeeper Brendan Taylor retired from global cricket to play county cricket in England.

Rossouw had released a statement saying: "Deciding to leave South Africa is something I have thought long and hard about and moving to England will give me and my family the long-term career security that I believe is important at this stage of my life". "There's too much talent in South Africa to lose guys like that".

The right-armer has also featured prominently for South Africa on the worldwide stage since making his debut in 2013, taking 99 wickets in just 59 matches across all formats, including outstanding figures of 6-77 against Australia in November 2016.

"We invest huge sums of money in every individual and we take Rilee by way of example. Our Protea players are among the top five percent of earners in our country".

Abbott played for Hampshire in 2014 and also had spells with the Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League and the Dolphins and Warriors in his native South Africa.
