Trump said Wednesday at his Mar-a-Lago country club in Florida that Sprint Inc.'s returning 5,000 positions is "because of me".
Trump gave no details and did not say if he or his transition team had anything to do with the new jobs.
OneWeb plans to use the funds to build a plant in Florida to produce low-priced satellites, creating nearly 3,000 jobs at the company and its suppliers.
Trump also said Wednesday that OneWeb, in which SoftBank also holds a large stake, would add 3,000 American jobs.
"They're coming back to the United States, which is a nice change", he said.
A potentially important economic story is developing in Kansas City, as a major local employer might be bringing thousands of jobs to the U.S. Sprint and OneWeb confirmed that these jobs are part of that 50,000 vow, since SoftBank has made significant investments in both companies. Masayoshi Son, Softbank's CEO, touted his company's $50 billion investment in the USA after a meeting with the president-elect on December 6.

Trump on Thursday morning tweeted a link to his Instagram page and a photo of himself with the caption, "My Administration will follow two simple rules: BUY AMERICAN and HIRE AMERICAN!"
There's disagreement over whether the Sprint jobs, announced shortly after a multi-billion investment from its owner, SoftBank, should even be counted as new, or whether they are part of a previous SoftBank announcement promising 50,000 jobs.
Trump on Wednesday hailed Sprint's 5,000-job promise as "very good news".

The comment came hours after Trump blasted Obama on Twitter. That puts the U.S.at 95 straight weeks of jobless claims below 300,000-the longest streak since 1970, according to Bloomberg-and shows the economy is approaching full strength.
